"Washington is in need of some adult supervision.."

I'm voting for him.

And I fear for my country if McCain wins. McCain is quoted as saying that he wants to overturn most Supreme Court rulings and go back to the way the Constitution used to be. Cool, no choice, no female voting rights, slavery.

That was a good time. I know I'll enjoy being a man's property and being denied my civil liberties. Then I'll go out back and beat my slaves.

Seriously though, haven't we suffered through 8 long years of Bush? McCain has voted WITH Bush on 90% 0f his issues - including those on marriage and the insufferable war in Iraq.

So, call me a baby killer, a gay lover, "un-American", a terrorist, a tree hugger. I call it being informed.

Obama wants to give women the choice of what to do with their bodies, the choice for voters to decide to legalize gay marriage, because love is more important, he wants to slowly withdraw our troops from this ridiculous, hellacious war that has killed hundreds and thousands of people - right, now where does Osama Bid Laden live? Oh right...Afghanistan.

Sarah Palin's constituency is smaller then the mayor if Jacksonville's. Her only qualification is that she didn't have an abortion when she was pregnant with a child who had down syndrome. She's also a good mother for forcing her pregnant daughter to get married. Abstinance only really worked there - huh Sarah? And me? I'd rather vote for a pitbull then the hockey mom in lipstick. That schtick is a disgusting as McCain's accent "Warsherington"..now, where exactly is that located again? McCain's campaign is exactly as signs read, "McCain: God, Guns and Lipstick!" Just because Sarah Palin has as vagina, doesn't mean she gives a flying wicked monkey about mine.

It's sad, Palin complains about sexism - what about the blatant racism? Cute, Obama Bin Laden. Real adorable. He's not muslim. He's christian. And he wants rights for the idiots out there who call him a "nigger" and a "muslim bastard". And no, he won't go back to Kenya "where he was born"...maybe Hawaii? Individuals born outside of the US can't be President. Smooth.

The best part is that Palin keeps running her mouth about "REFORMING WASHINGTON!" Are you reforming John McCain, who's voted with Bush 90% of the time? Are you reforming your religious zealot party who care more about their money then their country? No. You want to reform Roe v. Wade. The entire constitution. The idea of choice, freedom. You want to reform contraception. Hell, you want to reform the right for homosexuals to have the rights to life, liberty and the persuit of happiness.

The ignorance that is showing it's ugly head in this election scares me. I fear for my country - that it will never be the place I grew up. Religious intolerance, Racially motivated crime, poverty, recession - is the world you want to raise your child in? If so, please vote McCain/Palin.

Educate yourself. Don't vote for McCain's religion, or Palin's religion (she's a crazy by the way...). Don't vote for Obama's words in speeches or his religion either. Check your facts. And don't vote for someone because your dad told you McCain is cool - don't be uninformed.

Obama/Biden 2008.
"Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek."

I feel in heaven when I look in your eyes...

....I know that you are the one for me!

So, we went to the beach yesterday. It was absolutely beautiful. I think all three of us were reminded about a simple fact - we don't hate Australia, we hate DLC. It's nice to be reminded of things like that, to remind us that we aren't having a completely terrible time down here because of the country - just because of the place I live.

Conception Day is this Friday, it's basically a big huge concert day with school sanctioned drinking. My internship is closed that day. I get to play! WOO!

The next day we're going to the beach again, but for the full day instead of just a while. We're eating dinner at the beer garden there too. I'm pumped.

Everyone should be getting postcards soon, either as an entity or individually. Be excited.

That's my update. I don't have much. I'll update after Conception Day & the beach. Then you'll get an update after break. Sorry kids.

Loveyou all.

I know now, the place that I was trying to reach...

...was you right there in front of me.

Hello all! Today is the day I update you on the perilous undoings of my life.

This week was decent, Kait, Alexis and I sort of just hung out. Chatted. It was a nice relaxing week. The worst was Wednesday, it was Damo's (see first post about individuals in Oz) birthday and they went to the Ranch, so everyone was freaking obnoxious. We were so pissed. We refused to go because all the guys were supposed to come out for my birthday and then didn't. So..we didn't. Screw that.

Another thing, we're watching the unravelment of the Marist girls. It's fabulous and oddly satisfying. The one grad student here, Kim, freaked out on the Queen Bitch (Katelyn) yesterday at brunch. Highly satisfying, that was. Katelyn came to Alexis's room last night to ask where Damo was. We were like...asleep. Bye. Damo called us after she walked away and was like, "DON'T TELL HER I'M AWAKE. I'M DEAD SHHHHHH!" Good laugh out of that one.

Anyway, I mostly wanted to post my itinerary for my spring break trip, so you know and to make you hate your lives.

Wed 9/24: Fly into Brisbane from Sydney. Go to Tinbilly Travellers Hostel (that the trip paid for) and then possibly a day cruise in Brisbane.

Thurs 9/25: Leave Brisbane @ 8:30. Australia Zoo to check out all the Steve Irwin stuff. Fraser Island/Hervey Bay to put our stuff away and then a two hour open bar cruise of Hervey Bay. SWEET.

Fri 9/26: 7:30, leave for Fraser Island and spend all day tanning and playing baseball. Then we head to the Whitsundays!

Sat 9/27: Sailing and wake jumping on high speed boats all day on the Whitsundays and then party!

Sun 9/28: Sleeeeeep. Free day to shop, catamaran, tennis, jet ski, sun bathe. Skydive? Temmmmmpting.

Mon 9/29: Sailing on a yacht, scuba diving, tannning. Chilllll.

Tues 9/30: Tully River White Water Rafting. 4/5 River. Then to the accomodations with the lagoon pool and open-air beer hall.

Wed 10/1: Free day in Cairns! Then, Night Bungy Dance Party! Possible bungy jumping, maayyybe.

Thurs 10/2: Scuba/Snorkel around the Great Barrier Reef!

Fri 10/3: Sleep in! Rainforest trip and natural spa! Then, goodbye party :-(.

Sat 10/4: Fly back to Sydney to continue my miserable existence in shitty DLC.

Good thing is, Debbie gets here the 14th. SCORE.

Love!

It's spurs and let it go - its the ropes and the reins and the joys and the pains..

....and they call the thing rodeo.

It's a good day. 66 degrees, beautiful, laundry is almost done, room is clean, papers done.

I feel fabulous. Maybe, just maybe, it's the turn around?

Kait, Alexis and myself have finally just figured it's the three of us, and as long as Queen of Marist and all Aussies declares it, we won't be having friends.

But screw it. Seriously. Who cares? The three of us have tons of fun, along with Brianne from Marist, when she comes. My birthday night with Kait, Alexis, Brianne and Nessa rocked. I had tons of fun just eating out and hitting up random clubs. I had a blast and I have some kick ass friends here who made it better.

It's a countdown for Spring Break - 24 days until I'm snorkeling around the GBR and laying on a beach on some island. After spring break, 64 days til I'm home. And between those two times, we have 2 and 1/2 weeks of finals, in which I only have one test and a presentation to do, so we're hitting up Manly and Bondi beaches.

I'm taking my energy to the gym, not eating my weight in Tim Tams and not spending money ostentaciously. I want good experiences, good friends and a damn good tan. This is definitely the point where I go, screw you all. Let's have fun.

Ok, Aussieland, bring it.....

The space between the tears we cry - the laughter keeps up coming back for more...

This happens to be one of my favorite pictures of my birthday week so far. I guess I'm just in awe that I'm turning 21, graduating college in May, and will be going to grad school in August. That's a year. I have to grow the rest of the way up. Why is it I was so charged to grow up before? Now I just want to stay home. I just didn't realize life was moving this fast, not at all. Here I am in Australia, thinking about this - it's just crazy. Anyway, on to what everyone reads this for: Australia.

It's Wednesday, so tonight Kait, Alexis & I are heading to the Ranch to make the Marist girls hate their lives. We're sweet like that. We decided they can hate us, but we're going to kill them with kindness - that's what people like that hate. We're such bitches, but we already knew that!

Tomorrow night is Thursday, which means UBar. At midnight it's officially my birthday, so I'm super stoked. I can't believe I turn 21. Seriously. Wow. I'm getting old.

Friday is still open to interpretation. We're pretty sure we're headed into Scruffy's to start off the night, probably around 8 or so. Then we're unsure as to what's next. It's between heading to Ivy or finding somewhere else to go. Alas and alack, it'll be taken care of eventually.

Saturday & Sunday are "DO WORK SON" days, or shits going to hit the fan. For real.

I keep finding myself alone in my room - all by my doing. I just find my door closed, sitting in here. It's so stupid, I don't really get why I do it. I like knowing that I can sit here in semi-silence and no one will say anything, but then I miss out on the on-goings of the hall. I'm a loser. Never before have I felt this uncomfortable in social situations. I feel like the little smelly kid in kindergarden who can't tie their shoes. It's all so awkward. I think it's mostly because I miss my stupid friends. I love them.

Seriously, Alicia and Becky sent me that bear from Build-A-Bear. Her name is Sydney and she's wearing this really trashy outfit. I love it. She has a passport (pawsport <3) style="font-style: italic;">I miss you all - don't forget that. No one will ever replace my Jays kids - you've got that for life. It's so ridiculous and childish how sad I am about missing my mom and grandparents. I feel like a brat, but I'd do anything for a hug. I haven't had a hug in a while....

Love, love, lOve, and loooooove.

Word of the day: bubbla
meaning: water fountain.

I just can't turn and walk away...

"I thought about calling you when I got off the plane
Every time I see this city through the clouds I get that way
Call me crazy for missing you like this but I do
By now I figured you had all your numbers changed
It's been at least a year since I called you up to say
We need to talk I got this job and I think I'm going to take it

'Cause I been waiting all my life
For a break like this
It's my chance of a lifetime I just know it is
I gotta go find these dreams
Was the last thing that I said
And then I did

I can see clear to the mountains as we head up our old street
I remember how we'd call in sick on days like these
And turn the music up roll the windows down and just drive
You talked me outta givin' up on myself so many times
Convinced me to get in while I could regrets hang heavy on the mind
you never doubted me you kept pushing me

Saying you've been waiting all your life for a break like this
It's your chance of a lifetime you just know it is
You gotta go find those dreams
Was the last thing that you said
And then I did

But you were wrong
Love was what I wanted all along
And now you're gone

I thought about calling you when I got off the plane
Every time I see this city through the clouds I get that way

But you were wrong
Love was what I wanted all along"

I'm sick. I miss everyone. I want to have training shifts. I want to yell at dumb people. I want to decorate my dorm room (in Etown). I want to go to Bube's or to Rockwell's for my 21st. I want my momma to take me to Conner's for my first "legal" drink. I want to walk across campus and harass becky and nikki. I want to go out to Flavors on Trivia night. I want class with only 20 other people. I want to boil out the fryers and clean the char grill. I want to cuddle and laugh with mike. I want to know my mommie can come and see me when she has a spare hour. I want to see my MOH and pounce on her - cause I can. I just want to get better.

But hell, I'm in Australia - guess I'll make the best of it. Spring Break to the GBR and Cairns in less then a month <33

And new, starting now. Australian word of the day:
Stroppy: meaning cranky, grumpy.

Waiting here with hopes the phone might ring...

So, I really wanted to buy a journal to keep myself in tune with writing an to be able to regurgitate information at will to anyone that asked - I decided this was probably MUCH easier. I can keep everyone abreast all my info and post pictures and not fill everyone's inbox.

Overall:
I'm enjoying myself. I won't lie, the thrill of being in a different country across the world hasn't lost it's appeal - just the people have. Kait, Alexis and myself tend to have more fun together then we do with the Aussies. Especially because we live on a floor with kids. I'm talking barely legal, almost USA jailbait. Certifiable freshers, like, WOO! I'm going to be 19 soon! Oh, goody. 19 huh? The worst part is they're all ABOUT drinking until they don't recall their night. It's obnoxious...

A more intimate "get to know you" with the people on my floor and in Aussie land:
So, on my floor there are four guys that we talk to, the RA and another American. Everyone else is Asian and doesn't talk to us. The guys are Jeremy, Damo, Brad and Kane. The RA is Jen and Karrah from F&M (not kidding) lives across from Kait. Jeremy is 22 and a chiropractic major. He's also cocky 95% of the time and thinks he's the best thing since sliced freakin' bread. We thought he was a nice guy when we first met him...then he threw up all over Kait & Alexis and acted like it was all good. Not all good, not one bit. Damo lives next door to me (408) and is usually nice. He's one of those followers - he'll do anything if you egg him on a bit, which is when he gets !*(@&$%@)% obnoxious. Nice overall though. Brad is another cocky kid. He's completely adorable and plays footy like a king - he's absolutely fabulous, just ask him. Kane lives across from Brad and is really quiet, he's the observer, but is really nice to me - not so much Kait & Alexis though. Jen is our RA and doesn't say much of anything. Her boyfriend lives in her room (even though visitors overnight are NOT allowed, he never leaves). Karrah is from F&M and is really nice - I don't know much about her though...

Otherwise, we're here with a lot of Cali kids and a bunch of Marist sluts. Seriously, those Marist girls change their man more then they change their underwear. It's like, oh well gooooood. *Sigh* Americans have such a bad rap here...no wonder. Two of the Marist girls - Brianne & Agnes - they're really nice. Poor girls, stuck with such a bunch of social sluts.

Really, that's just my introduction...everyone's already heard all the recent stories, so there's no point going into anymore of them. Good point: my birthday is in 6 days. That'll be exciting.....I just wish my momma, mike and the jays kids were here to celebrate with me.
