I have a boring life. I have nothing to update about.



Okay, well. I finished my internship, finally. I've been working on my paper and power point presentation for next week and the following week. Then all I have to do is study for finals and pack. Then I can come home. WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!


The only thing of measurable excitement I've done is help Alicia with the wedding some more. That always makes me happy. And I've talked to her on skype, along with Errrkka and Becky...that was glorious. I miss those kids. I talk to Mike and Nana and Pappy all the time, so while quite exciting, it's not surprising.


Moral of the story: I'm ready to come home.

Also, yes I know it's Tuesday. Sorry. I suck. I've been busy, people (aka my grandparents who are the only people who read this).

So this past weekend was cool - Kait, Alexis and I went to Paddy's Market. Now, think flea market/discount-thrift store/Battery Island all at once. It's heaven basically. So we went and did our souvenir shopping (my christmas shopping). We left at 10 and took the MAGIC BUS (292, which makes less stops and gets to the city faster), which would have been all well and good had it been magical and fast instead of the same as the 290. We were good kids on the bus and got up from our seats for a mother and her kids - we're sweet like that. So, we stood near the back door on the bus and Alexis geeked out when she saw her first ever stick bug (think: A Bug's Life). Hysterical.

Ok, please note that you have to walk through Darling Harbour (yes, Harbour) to get to Paddy's. So we were like, oh hey! Let's stop and get another picture at the Real World: Sydney House! THEY TORE IT DOWN. The three of us were like, OMG WTF!? Heartbreaking - good thing we already got one!

Anyway, so we spent a solid 4 hours wandering aimlessly about Paddy's with our lists - until we almost died from exhaustion. So, we came back to DLC and chilled. Karma took its course on Alexis, who killed the poor innocent stick bug, and she had a cockroach in her room because her screen was out. I expertly kill the thing with my 12 dollar can of Mortein Easy Reach Surface Spray Cockroach Killing Spray - which sleeps next to my bed at night. I check my walls and do a thorough search before bed every night - I don't play.

Sunday was a lazy day, we hung out and I caught up on the lectures I missed, as well as studied for my GREs. Monday I went to my internship and then did laundry, read for class and did more GRE stuff - then I got in a verbal match with AES and Wachovia, which is beyond my ability to describe in writing. Today I took a fabtastic nap from 1:15-4:00 because I was up til almost 3 am the night before.

Oh cool news - here to drive you have to have a certain colored P plate - it indicates how old you are. I found one laying on the sidewalk, so now it's mine. HA!

Blue Mountains were excellent - we had a great hike!! Sooo here we go:

Saturday: Left our dorm @ 7 bloody a.m., the dude (Mike? Who knows, he drove slow) took us to meet our bus @ the Shangri-La hotel in the Rocks (the area we went for my b-day). The bus picked us up and we went to the lower part of the Blue Mountains first, to Euorkea (maybe, maybe not) Clearing, where we saw some super adorable wild kangas. Super cute! Then we had some coffee (oh thank god, seriously) and anzec cookies (GOOD). Then we went to this overlook and got some groovy troovy pictures of the mountains. Afterwards, we were dropped off at Echo Point Lookout to start our hike. Kait got a picture with an aboriginal guy who tried to kiss her and smelled terrible, so Alexis and I nixxed that idea. We travelled down the Giant Stairway, which is steps of metal in some places and other places carved out of the mountain - about a bajillion going from the cliff face to the bottom of the valley. Talk about ouch. We went all the way around the Three Sisters (story to follow) and into Federal Pass. We travelled upwards to Great Round Walk and then up even further to the Katoomba Falls Crossing. We then wandered aimlessly to the scenic skyway so we didn't have to take the Furber Steps (over 1,000 steps practically vertical, eff that shit) and finished. It took about 2 hours. It was great fun :-).

Saturday afternoon/night: After that they dropped us at our hotel (paid for by BCA, woot woot) the Mountain Heritage Hotel - which was gorgeous! Kait and I stayed together while Alexis and Bekah (we hate her. Sorry Al) had the other room. We then decided that a 1.5 hour nap was necessary. It commenced and was lovely. Then, get this, I showered. Without SHOES! WOOOOOOOOO! It was my first shoe-less shower since July. Beautiful. Then we got dressed and went to dinner at this place that had bad food and worse service. After dinner we went back to the hotel to do work. That last about 2.4 seconds. Kait and I watched Fantastic 4 and Walking Tall. We agreed it's the most Tv we've watched since July - it was highly glorious. Then we went to bed. My bed was comfortable and I got...probably top 5 best sleep...since i've been here.

Sunday (today): Fully included breakfast - CROSSIANTS! WOOOO. So good. Coffee= good. Wandered around Katoomba, checked out the shops. Ate at subway. Left Katoomba. Stopped at the Featherdale Wildlife place. Petted a super adorable Koala. Got chased by scary birds. Had terrible ice-cream. Came back to DLC and had an improvised dinner of lettuce, carrots, cucumbers, green beans and corn on the cob. Did some homework. Watched Greys with Alexis. Showered. Good stuff.

Three Sisters:
A long long time ago there was an Aboriginal tribe in Katoomba (does the name give it away?) and they had a witch doctor who had a magic bone. He could point that magic bone at any member of his own tribe and turn them into ANYTHING he wanted (how cooool). So, this tribe is at war with another tribe - and by the way, the witch doctor has three HOT daughters, all teenagers. So the other tribe is like, dude. During the war, let's steal the hot daughters and keep them. So the witch doctor hears about this and is like, ahh hell no. So he gets the bright idea to tell his daughters to sit on a cliff face, he turns them into rocks after promising to turn them back into hotties once the war is over. Obviously the witch doctor dies and is pushed off the cliff, his magic bone falling with him. Legand has it that if the bone is found, someone can turn the hottie daughters back into people. The end.


Also, *knock on wood* I have seen zero non-humans. Except Damo, but he doesn't count....

Cool, real cool.

Okay, so. There's a cockroach in my room that flies. And it flies in my hair while I sleep. So now, I don't sleep.



I am beyond disgusted and upset. I can't even handle this right now.

Well here and now, will we ever be again..

...cause I have found all that shimmers in this world, is sure to fade, away...again.


I'm so busy writing papers that nothing interesting has happened. This weekend BCA is sending us on an "excursion" to the Blue Mountains.

So, that's me standing a little over ankle deep in the ocean.


You can see the TOE NAIL POLISH on my feet. How freaking cool is that?

SB 2K8 (Spring Break 2008) was awesome, I had a blast, minus my O(@&$(&@$(^!*#$*!^& camera breaking and having a lovely 80 dollars in my bank account.

I didn't skydive or Bunjy out of respect for my outstanding ability to bash my head into whatever is nearest - and as both of those things would cause me to splat, I decided to not take that chance.

I did however, Minjin swing (think three people like superman from the rain forest canopy. Kickass), Whitewater Raft (think fing awesome and woo woo!) and scuba dive to 10 meters on the Great Barrier Reef (not even imaginable unless you were there).

Minus the large amount of bug bites I have, the big ass fing spiders I found (who's bite could drop an elephant in 1 minute), and the numerous cockroaches (apparently near the eqautor they reproduce like rabbits and you can't get rid of them..fing ew), I had a blast. I helped sail and world class racing yacht, got a tan on the largest white sand island in the world (Whitehaven Beach, the Whitsundays, Australia), found Nemo, rafted on grade 4 rapids, flew like superman, stole some random persons kick ass cowboy hat (and almost his fake horse, MWAHAHA) and realized that no where on this earth can compare to home.

I miss you all, immensly. I'll see you soon <3
